Visit our beautiful rainforest with one of our expierenced guides.
Welcome to our ecological garden. In 1995, when this family project started, our land consisted only of grass and cows, cattle land. We started planting specific host plants for butterflies to eventually breed them and export the chrysalides (or cocoons) for butterfly exhibitions and museums all around the world. Mostly for educational purposes. By planting different species of hostplants for the butterflies, a lot of birds species came along and started to distribute new seeds to the garden. New species of plants and trees started to grow and without our intervention the garden grew into a beautiful rainforest with an enourmous amount of biodiversity. Together with the birds and pollinaters a lot of other animals made our forest their home.

With years of expierence we have succeded in mainting the perfect living conditions for all these species. The forest became a hotspot of biodiversity and our goal is to protect nature inside and outside of our parmeters. Don’t forget that we can’t predict nature. That’s why we don’t stick to fixed times. The duration of the tour can depend on weather conditions and what we encounter. We don’t mind letting you enjoy nature al little bit longer. You are going to love it! We can recommend you to add this tour to your rainforest experience to take little rest and enjoy the taste of nature after a beautiful hike.
We currently only do this unique tour on request, but that certainly does not make it any less special and worthwhile. About half an hour’s drive from Pierella Garden we have another location that we would be happy to take you to in our 4×4. This place is located a little higher in the mountains and provides the perfect habitat for the king vulture. This bird belongs to the New World Vulture family and can have a wingspan of 170 to 200 centimeters. Impressive not only for its large size but also for its incredible colors. Together with a guide we will place bait for the vultures and we can see and photograph them up close.
